The Priceline Group, including Priceline.com, Kayak.com, Booking.com, Agoda, RentalCars.com, is the largest global online travel agency and growing faster then Expedia particularly in the global markets.
Expedia, Inc is still dominant in the U.S. market, but Priceline.com and Booking.com have successfully taking business away from Expedia's Hotwire. Expedia may make up some ground with the recent partnership with Travelocity.
Tripadvisor, which spun off from Expedia Inc in 2011 is growing quickly and has found great success in its advertising business. Rather then referring directly to the other big agencies, it has begun to include hotel metasearch, which is threatening Priceline's Kayak and Expedia's Trivago.
Orbitz Worldwide is still in the game, but struggling. The airline ticket business does not offer the same margins as hotel booking.
